Early Asset Development
Research shows a strong correlation in children and youth between the presence of identified developmental
assets and leading a healthy and productive life.
The goal of the Early Asset Development program is to assist young children in building developmental
assets by teaching them positive social skills. The curriculum design strengthens children's desire for healthy
living by improving their ability to protect themselves from harmful behaviors and decisions.
This prevention program consists of a ten lesson curriculum implemented in 1
st and 2
nd grade classrooms.

3. Respecting Differences
4. Listening
5. Understanding Feelings
6. Handling Anger
7. Decision Making
8. Accepting Responsibility
9. Dealing with Peer Pressure
10. Getting Help
