Recovery & Prevention Resources Receives Certification in 13 Programs for Parole Reentry

Recovery & Prevention Resources of Delaware and Morrow Counties (RPR) has received certification for 13 adult treatment programs from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction's (ODRC) Adult Parole Authority (APA). The certification recognizes these programs as “Reentry Approved” for the Mansfield Region APA.

Approved programs are part of the APA's ongoing responsibility for the release and supervision of adult felony inmates returning to local communities from prison.

The APA partners with community treatment providers, like RPR, that provide services which create opportunities for offenders to reenter into law-abiding citizenship and to reward, encourage and promote positive behaviors by those offenders.

Community-based reentry programs are a central element of the APA's overall reentry initiatives. Treatment programs for drug or alcohol abuse are evaluated by ODRC's Central Office Reentry Programs Oversight Committee and only those programs that meet a number of criteria may qualify for approval.

RPR submitted 13 adult treatment programs from both Delaware and Morrow counties for certification – all were approved. Among the adult treatment programs recognized as Reentry Approved Programs are Breaking the Cycle, the agency's gender-specific treatment program for women; a specialized treatment program for clients experiencing co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders; numerous psycho-educational programs; and a variety of outpatient treatment programs and groups that address client needs at all developmental stages of the recovery process.

“The role of community partners in helping individuals reentering the community is essential to a successful parole period,” said Tony Williams, LICDC, chief executive officer of RPR. “We are pleased that the ODRC has approved the high-quality adult treatment programs our agency offers and recognizes the important contributions that RPR makes in Delaware and Morrow counties.”

RPR offers a broad array of evidence-based outpatient treatment services for families, children, teens and adults in Delaware and Morrow counties. These services include assessments and diagnostic evaluations; individual, group and family counseling; crisis intervention; case management; and intensive outpatient programs, among others – all provided by licensed therapists, counselors, and social workers.
