Inhalants are ordinary household products that are inhaled or sniffed to get high.
Although different in make up, nearly all abused inhalants produce similar effects to anesthetics, which
act to slow down the body’s functions.
Inhalants starve the body of oxygen and force the heart to beat more rapidly and erratically. This can
sometimes cause severe damage to the brain and nervous system or immediate death.
